HARVESTED BY DESIGN

JMD was tasked with creating the full brand identity for Ousia, including campaign imagery, packaging, and content for a collection of four highly concentrated skincare formulas made with 100% good-for-you ingredients.

Our design process began with the brand’s name. Ousia, Greek for essence, reflects the purity and potency at the heart of the formulas. Founder Tammy Demos drew inspiration from the native fruits and botanicals of her Colorado mountain hometown – a connection to nature that became central to the visual identity.

Inspired by the surrounding landscape, we reinterpreted the Colorado mountains into a graphic motif that flows across the packaging with a soft matte, watercolor-like texture. A palette of muted greens reinforces the natural story, while a brand seal featuring a woman harvesting botanicals and the tagline “Harvested by Nature” anchors the brand’s origin.

Sustainability informed every design decision. Recyclable paperboard packaging, glass components, and refillable structures ensure the system reflects the same purity and care as the formulas themselves.
